Don’t ask for permission

The world is ruthless. Powerful people often do anything to protect their power. Regular people often do anything to protect their interests. We are out of the jungle, but we still follow its law most of the time.

Institutions are imperfect. Institutions will fail you. The judicial system will often fail you. Elections will lead to bad leaders at the helm. The media will fail to tell your story or those of people who look like you. You won’t be granted access to elite programs or institutions.

So, unless you are born with a silver spoon in your mouth, or in the right country at the right time, chances are you are already experiencing what I just described. It’s as if the forces of nature have conspired against you. Each victory is costly; you have to make more sacrifices than your peers.

Still, you want to play the game fairly, check all the boxes progressively. But that’s where you are hugely mistaken, for the game is rigged against you, and no amount of box checking will change that. You don’t need the validation of the system. You don’t need any permission to thrive.

Don’t ask for permission. The system is rigged. Go build what you need to build. Go take what you need to take. Don’t play the game, hack it.
