The Power of Gamification: Building an App for Writers

I am working on an app that allows writers to hone their craft more efficiently. As an amateur writer myself, I understand the importance of deliberate practice, based on the 10,000-hour theory. The theory suggests that mastering any skill requires 10,000 hours of focused, challenging practice. For writers, this means consistently pushing their limits and learning new techniques.

There are numerous ways to learn and practice writing, such as attending workshops, pursuing a master’s degree in creative writing, or taking online courses. However, most online courses utilize the master class format, where an expert writer explains their perspective on writing. This approach may not be ideal for hands-on practice, as it involves theoretical discussions rather than practical exercises.

To address this, I am developing an app that leverages recent advancements in artificial intelligence and language models to create personalized, practical courses. This will enable users to practice their writing skills and receive tailored feedback. My goal is to create a Duolingo-like platform for writing, as I was inspired by the simplicity and effectiveness of the language learning app.
