The Oracle of Omaha has managed to beat the market in a year when other investors have been struggling to adjust their portfolios in the face of big interest rate hikes from central banks around the world.

Shares of his Berkshire Hathaway (BRKB) are up about 5.5% since the start of the year, while the S&P 500 is down more than 15%. It looks like Buffett will have the last laugh this year, and he’s been helped by some savvy stock picks.

The biggest winner for Buffett is oil company Chevron (CVX). Thanks to its 50% gain, it’s now the best stock in the Dow this year. Berkshire also owns a huge chunk of Occidental Petroleum (OXY), which has more than doubled and is now one of the top gainers in the S&P 500.

Overall, Warren Buffett’s portfolio appears poised for success this year as he continues to make smart investments during a tumultuous economic environment filled with uncertainty and volatility. With his trademark style of value investing, it looks like he might just be able to beat out even the most seasoned investors again this time around!
